The Typical Isagenix Diet

In some ways, Isagenix looks just like any other diet or cleanse. But in the important ways, it couldn’t be more different. Sure, we focus on consuming fewer calories than your body burns, and we replace a meal with a shake or two. We even encourage you to throw in some exercise! But what makes us stand out is the fact that our products fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to power through the day. We cut on calories without cutting on quality or nutrition. We know you can meet your calorie deficit without hurting your health, and we’re dedicated to helping you do it. We aim to provide the help you need to make drastic life changes—and we’re in it for the long-haul.

To clear something up, however, we want to make you aware that our diets are not suitable for long-term or year-long use. These specific plans are designed for weight-loss newbies who want to kick start their journey. These diets will provide the initial push you need to gain momentum and transition to a sustainable, health-focussed diet plan. A diet will never be the long term answer to health problems.

But don’t worry—we’re still here to help after your initial diet! We offer a full line of Isagenix products that are designed to maintain your weight-loss and nutrition goals. They simply offer a much less drastic calorie deficit, as you need to consume more when your body has less fat to burn for energy.

How is the Isagenix diet structured?

We’ve made our diet as straightforward as possible. Nutritional Cleansing System takes an easy approach to body cleansing: drastically reducing calories for a short period of time and then implementing healthy calories, macronutrients, and natural extracts to promote health and weight-loss. This approach pushes your body to burn excess fat, and then gives it the time and nutrients it needs to recover, promote healthy development, and maintain your results. And even though getting in shape is a long-term project, we understand the importance of short-term results for motivation. Aside from the nutritional science that backs it, that’s a main reason we encourage an intense cleanse prior to a more sustainable diet change.

The Isagenix diet covers the following structure:

Pre-Cleanse Day:

  • Meal 1 – IsaLean Meal Replacement Shake
  • Meal 2 – 400-600 Calorie Meal
  • Meal 3 – Isalean Meal Replacement Shake

Cleanse Day:

  • Meal 1 – Cleanse for Life (4x per day)
  • Meal 2 – Isagenix Snacks (up to 6x per day)
  • Priorities – Fluid intake and staying hydrated

Notes – While cleanse days are physically demanding, they are designed to promote digestive health and high levels of nutrients despite a large calorie deficit.

Shake Day:

  • Meal 1 – IsaLean Shake
  • Meal 2 – 400-600 Calorie Meal
  • Meal 3 – IsaLean Shake

What Constitutes as a Reasonable 400-600 Calorie Meal

It’s pretty clear that we aren’t being too specific about the 400-600 calorie meal. It can be as healthy or unhealthy as you want it to be. Because we don’t provide it, we can’t dictate what you should consume. That’s based on your preferences and the food available to you. However, if you want to ensure success, we’d encourage you to seek out a meal high in protein, fats, carbs, and micronutrients. In addition to aiding with weight-loss, these nutrients will keep you feeling full despite the caloric deficit.

Not all proteins are created equal. It’s important that you choose high-quality, low-fat options such as atlantic salmon, grass-fed beef, chicken breast, turkey, or plant sources. Protein will help ensure fullness, while also providing vital nutrients to encourage weight loss and muscle development.

Even though you’re trying to burn fat, it’s still important to consume them. Just remember that there are good fats and bad ones. As your meal replacement shakes don’t contain any fats, it’s important to get your daily dose of healthy fat via your mid-day meals. We’d recommend fatty fish, fruits like avocado, seeds, nuts, and legumes.

While most people try to avoid carbs, your body needs them for energy. You simply have to train it to crave the good ones rather than the junk-food variety. Focus on eating vegetables, beans, whole grains, and healthy starches. That means staying clear of processed food, such as potato chips and white bread. Personally, we’d recommend eating sweet potatoes, potatoes, oatmeal, bean salads, and leafy vegetables.

Even though it’s most important to get in your macronutrients (read: carbs, proteins, and fats), you can’t skimp on the micronutrients. These vitamins and minerals make sure your body is in top-top shape, and help ensure your weight loss journey is a healthy one. The best way to stay on top of your micronutrients is to consume as many leafy, green vegetables as possible. Diversify your options to make sure you’re getting the widest variety possible.

Closing Remarks

At the end of the day, the Isagenix cleanse/shake diet is an answer to kickstarting your weight-loss journey and prepping your body to entire a more sustainable, long-term weight loss program. We do not encourage long-term dependence on cleansing diets, but do believe they can make a major impact while transitioning to a healthier, nutrient-rich diet.
